Yesterday, March 2, 2023, the children of former House Representative Romeo Jalosjos met with the management of GMA Network Inc. to convey that they are now in charge of Television and Productions Exponents (TAPE) Inc., the producer of the longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga, hosted by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
One of the executives of TAPE, Tony Tuviera, who has retired but still manages Eat Bulaga, was present in the meeting. Jalosjos and Tuviera are the owners of TAPE Inc., but Jalosjos has a larger stake and is leaving the management of the noontime show to his three children, Bullet, John, and Soraya.
The new leadership of TAPE Inc. is expected to release an official statement regarding upcoming changes, putting an end to rumors that Tito, Vic, and Joey will leave Eat Bulaga due to their loyalty to Tuviera once his power in the company and program diminishes.
The new management of TAPE, Inc. is also expected to clarify reports that they allegedly asked employees to resign but will rehire those who are qualified to return to work.
Despite issues and controversies surrounding the fate of Eat Bulaga under new management, the program appeared to be normal during its live airing on Friday noon, March 3.
